Social Responsibility
Plexwood is produced in The Netherlands under one of the world’s strictest national regulations and legislation with regard to humans and the environment
In our production we rely strongly on the work of individuals with a social and/or physical disabilities
We invest in a safe work environment; in our factory we have never had to report any accidents
Our employees are offered the possibility to work from home and combine their work with caring for children and other family members
Employees are encouraged to take additional schooling to improve their skills, also in terms of their future career path
Plexwood promotes the sharing of knowledge and cultures by offering traineeships to national and international students and work experience opportunities as a certified learning company
We are involved on a social level with the further development of ‘economic botany’, by setting up the Foundation for Economic Botany, focused on long-term research projects related to bio-diversity of economic valuable trees
Plexwood realised the budget, together with Foundation De Wilde Ganzen, for the planting of 100.000 trees (approx. 100 ha) in the highlands of Peru, an initiative of the HoPe Foundation, and technically supervised by Pachamama Raymi
The first 20.000 trees (approx. 20 ha) have already been planted in Chupani. With this planting, the community of Chupani will be able to permanently lift itself out of poverty in a sustainable manner within five years by, among other things, selling mushrooms generated by these trees
